Recipe is courtesy of Jamil Zainasheff: (The most award winning homebrewer ever.) Jamil has won The Namiski, Sierra Nevada's Homebrewer of the year twice, Best of Show at the Maltise Falcons Mayfaire Competition, and a silver metal for his Smoked Porter at the NHC. In the final round of the NHC, he's placed three years in a row in Scottish ales. A gold the first year, a silver the second, and then in 2004, a gold and a silver. He won first place at the Bay Area Mashers World Cup of Beer 2004. At the 2005 NHC, he recieved gold for his English Brown Ale, Bronze for his traditional mead, and silver for is Belgian Strong Ale.
Here is the recipe I just brewed on Sunday. It is a really drinkable
american brown ale that everyone seems to love. It has a great hop aroma
and flavor. It is one of the very few recipes I've never entered in
competition. Why? It all gets consumed before any can get bottled! J.Z.
